a. Material Handling Crane (MHC). The MHC is mounted on the frame near the middle
of the vehicle. The MHC has a lifting capacity of 11,000 lbs (4,994 kgs). The MHC
contains an Overload Shutdown System which monitors boom angle, boom extension, and
load weight. If the Overload Shutdown System senses an overload condition; hoist up,
boom telescope out, and boom up functions become locked out.
(1) The vehicle is stabilized during MHC operation by jack cylinders (1) attached to
outrigger beams. Outrigger pads (2) are provided and are attached to the bottom of the
jack cylinders by quick release pins (3). All MHC functions are controlled by levers at the
control panel (4).
