c. Underlift Assembly. The hydraulic underlift assembly (8) is attached to the rear of the
vehicle and is used for towing a disabled vehicle. Stifflegs (9) are used to keep the M1089
stable during recovery operations. The stinger (10) can be extended to position the
crossbar (11) beneath the vehicle being recovered. The crossbar is equipped with
adapters which allow it to tow a wide range of vehicles. Two underlift assembly cylinders
(12) control the height of the crossbar to allow the Operator to lift and tow a disabled
vehicle. Underlift assembly functions are controlled from the WRECKER CONTROL
PANEL (6) or from the wrecker remote control (7).
