e. Inspect tailgate (10) for damage, security. and
ease of movement. Also check condition and security
of tailgate chains (3), wings (6), lashing hooks (5),
and (11), latches and brackets (4), retaining pins (8),
hinge pins (9), and brackets (7).
f. Check for proper operation of tailgate control
linkage by: first, pulling tailgate control rod hand
lever (12) forward and down to unlock tailgate
latches and second, pushing it up and back to lock
tailgate (10).
