2-14. CTIS OPERATION
NOTE
If CTIS is not operational, refer
to paragraph. 3-16.
a.
Hwy Mode. CTIS highway selection
automatically programmed Hwy (4) when y( start the
engine.
b.
X-C Mode. When the mission requires
off-road
driving,
select
X-C
(cross-country)
b
depressing X-C (3) on the selector panel (1).
c.
Sand Mode. When the mission requires
driving in sand, snow, or mud, select SAND by
depressing SAND (2) on the selector panel (1).
2-15. PLACING VEHICLE IN MOTION
WARNING
Do not put vehicle in motion until warning light goes out and alarm (buzzer)
stops sounding. Air pressure gauge should indicate at least 90 psi (621
kPa). If warnings continue beyond three minutes, and/or pressure gauge
does not reach 90 psi (621 kPa), turn ignition switch and battery switch to
OFF positions and notify your supervisor. Failure to do this may cause
injury or death.
a.
Be sure all auxiliary equipment and tools are stored and locked.
b.
Start engine. Refer to paragraph 2-12 for instructions.
c.
Set vehicle lights for operating conditions. Refer to paragraph 2-18 for light switch operating instructions.
CAUTION
Do not shift transfer case shift lever from high range to low range, or low
range to high range, unless transmission selector lever is in N (neutral).
d.
With transmission selector lever (2) in N (neutral), select transfer case driving range:
(1)
Depress lockout switch (1) and place transfer case shift lever (3) down to HIGH range for normal
driving conditions.
