f. Shut Down Engine.
(1) Stop vehicle (para 2-27d).
(2) Press N (Neutral) button (1) on WTEC II TEPSS (2) or WTEC III TPSS (2).
(3) Pull out SYSTEM PARK control (3).
CAUTION
Engine temperature must be maintained at a minimum of 165F (74C) for
final 15 minutes prior to engine shutdown. Failure to comply may result in
damage to engine.
When outside temperatures are below 32F (0C) do not continuously
operate engine above 1,250 to 1,450 rpm or HAND THROTTLE lever above
L. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
Steps (4) through (6) are only necessary to meet 165F (74C) requirements.
Perform step (4) if it is necessary to increase WATER TEMP to 165F (74C)
and it can be accomplished using accelerator pedal or HAND THROTTLE
lever, within approximately 20 minutes.
In the event of a tachometer failure a HAND THROTTLE lever positioned to
L is approximately 1,250 to 1,450 rpm.
(4) Set engine speed to 1,250 to 1,450 rpm or place HAND THROTTLE lever (4) to L
until WATER TEMP gage (5) reaches and maintains 165F (74C) for 15 minutes.
